About us

The UK Research and Innovation Future Leaders Fellowships (FLF) scheme will grow the strong supply of talented individuals needed to ensure that UK research and innovation continues to be world class. This cross-UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) scheme will support early career researchers and innovators with outstanding potential in universities, UK registered businesses, and other research and user environments including research councils' institutes and laboratories.

About the role

We now need additional team members to administer this exciting scheme. As a Funding Administrator you will form a crucial part of this team, providing support to those oversee peer review, funding and management of the scheme.

Key responsibilities

  • undertaking application processing
  • managing, processing and tracking the peer review process, by which applications are assessed
  • identifying and managing conflicts in peer review
  • liaising with staff across all Councils to ensure smooth running of funding meetings
  • attending funding meetings when required to assist with logistics
  • managing information and records, ensuring that documents are filed correctly and updated as necessary
  • carrying out other administrative duties, as required.

The Medical Research Council (MRC) is a publicly-funded organisation dedicated to improving human health. We support research across the entire spectrum of medical sciences, in universities and hospitals, in our own units and institutes in the UK.

Shortlist and interview criteria

  • professional experience of working in a team
  • ability to deliver to deadlines within tight timescales, prioritising effectively
  • able to demonstrate good communication skills
  • able to deal effectively with people at all levels
  • ability to adapt to new systems and processes and modify procedures in response to changing work needs
  • excellent IT skills, especially MS Outlook, MS Excel and MS Word.

You will primarily be based in Swindon but occasional travel within the UK is expected to attend meetings/workshops.
