Working within the VAT Team, this is an exciting opportunity to deliver a high-quality VAT service to UK SBS customers.

Duties to include

  • preparing VAT Returns, EC Sales list and Intrastat returns and ensuring the filing requirements are met on a timely basis
  • extracting, reconciling and reviewing relevant VAT data from our financial reporting system
  • liaise closely across the finance/procurement teams to maintain good relationships and to advise on VAT matters
  • responding to customs clearance requests
  • identify and pursue continuous improvements in processes, procedures, and controls to deliver efficiencies and service enhancement
  • support Business Units by providing ad-hoc financial accounting support
  • complete GL reconciliations within your responsibility to time and quality standards
  • supporting other areas of Finance Service Delivery.

Shortlisting and Interview Criteria


  • a level standard or equivalent
  • understanding of how financial transactions flow through a business, and the double entry
  • a genuine interest in taxation and willingness to learn about VAT
  • advanced knowledge of Excel, including formulas, pivot tables and dealing with large volumes of data
  • someone with a logical and numerate mind, analytical skills, possessing attention to detail
  • good organisational skills, with ability to prioritise and manage time effectively
  • a team player who is confident in communicating with others and able to work within a team, with a hands-on attitude
  • able to work to tight deadlines, and under pressure.


  • AAT, ATT, ACCA, CIMA part qualified or working towards
  • basic knowledge of VAT rules.
